Academically Olivet is a great school, but living on campus SUCKS. The people are close minded, awkward home schooled jesus freaks that pretend like they know the world when they know absolutely nothing. You'll get along with them just fine if you're a well behaved conservative christian, but if you're anything else it's hard to fit in without feeling judged every 5 seconds.

The campus spends all its resources and money on sucking more people in, and making the campus "appear" nice when in reality the food is horrible, you need to walk half a mile to get to your car (student parking sucks), the wifi connection is terrible at best, and a lot of the dorms are old and run down. You'd think for 30,000+ a year they would improve these things.. IT'S NOT WORTH THE MONEY. At all, unless you're looking for a very christian oriented community. Very christian.

Now the rules. I HAD MORE FREEDOM IN HIGHSCHOOL. No joke. The rules here are restricting and dumb. If paying them 30,000+ a year wasn't enough to begin with they fine you for EVERYTHING! Miss a chapel? Fined. Loud after quiet hours? Fined. It's ridiculous. The RA's take their jobs wayyy to seriously and act like fucking nazis patrolling their floors. (I was fined for cussing too btw.)

The girls/guys here are awkward, and fake. I'de use those two adjectives to summarize the whole campus actually... In conclusion if you're a sheltered conservative christian looking to get a good education then you may like this school. If you're not they will force christianity down your throat everywhere you go. One of my 50 minute classes we spend more time praying and talking about our "feeling" then we do on the actually subject of the class. Everybody's really kumbia, lets hold hands, and smile all the time. It's really fucking creepy actually. I find myself gagging on a daily basis from the cheesiness of it all. It's cheesy to the point of fake in my opinion.

Oh and I guess you can derive from all of this that there is obviously no drinking or smoking allowed EVEN IF YOU ARE OF LEGAL AGE, on or off campus. They are very strict about this rule. Be prepared to spend your weekends doing the same exact shit with the same boring people. Sucky people + Sucky surrounding city = sucky social life.
Perceived Campus Safety: A+, Social Life: D

Outrageous amount of impractical busy work.
Learned very, very little, but created hundreds of pages of work. What a waste of time. I have taken coursework in several universities and this is THE WORST>
