Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I came here thinking that I would haveNot so bright
I came here thinking that I would have a great experience but I was wrong. Do not apply here and this is why.

Faculty: The faculty has their "favorites" which means the rest of the people are sol. The are rude and mean and so unorganized. It took me four months just to get my refund check.

Students: Most of the kids here are from dc. which is annoying because they just hang together like a clique. Everybody is in a clique and they are childish. its honestly like the 13th grade. I swear I never seen a group of people so lame. If you have a problem with one person prepare to get jumped.

Dorms: Freshman dorms suck, there is no coed dorms visitation is from 6-12 and it usually gets took away for the year due to some incident. You will be fined for everything whether you did it or not. The maint. people clean the bathrooms in the mornings but are so loud and rude. They stare at you which gets creepy and if students mess up the bathrooms to bad they take away the toilet paper. The RA are so clueless that its pointless to ask for help. Thing constantly gets stolen and they hold these mand. meetings each month where they are fussing and cursing at the students kids.

School Pride: suck there is no pride. The students are so lame that they just dnt care about their hbcu smh.Homecoming was so lame and the campus is always dry.

Social life: There is a shuttle that take kids to the same small boring club every thurs. which gets old. There are never any parties on campus except the corny ones that the school throws. Students just smoke in their dorms sometimes but nobody really drink except for some of the upperclassmen.

The cafe: sucks, the food is runny and the staff is rude, The lunch ladies are so mean that it make no sense. Bottom line: This is a small "see the same face twice a day" lame dc dominated campus. The campus is always dry and it has so many rules that I feel like im in jail. I am proud to say that I will be transferring.

A waste of my money
The school was not aware of the fact that we did not have an instructor for 3 weeks. Once they found out, three different instructors were sent. All students graduated from the class with A's although we learned nothing.

The living conditions are deplorable
Students are violent. We had girls throwing one another down stairs due to disputes over guys. One girl set another girl's room door on fire when she thought that the other young lady might win a door decorating contest during the Christmas holiday.

Theft is a huge problem
The campus library closed early several times when I was the only student using the facility. I was forced to visit go somewhere else to study.

The school lies about scholarships. Every student at the school is on some sort of scholarship. However, others are promised scholarships. Their families drive from other states to drop the student off, only to discover that the staff refused to follow through and there was no scholarship after all.

A number of times I was refused entry into the cafeteria when any little issue arose - I needed to see my advisor, there was $100 balance due on my account, a school error, etc. The school flags the student's account in these instances and the student is refused nourishment.

Finally, an instructor let us know that she might not show up for class at times. She encouraged us to be supportive of her absences and indicated that she would do the same for us.This place has been a complete waste of my money.
