Alright... I applied to SXU thinking that it was going to be a life-changing university. It was a good experience here at SXU but it could have always been better. SXU has parties, but mostly in the dorms. There is no greek life at this campus, but it doesnt matter because i have been to universities with greek life and all it does for the university is provide a place to party. I applied thinking that SXU was in the city, that is what the college brochure made it seem like, but it is not. The campus is around 25 minutes from downtown chicago, but the school does provide a campus shuttle to midway, which a student has to hop onto the orangle line to get downtown, which sometimes seems sketchy. If you are planning on getting a good education and not have to worry about getting distracted with partying, SXU is a good fit. This university is a commuter school, more of its students drive to and from school everyday. I live on campus and the freshman dorms are kinda small and old. The upperclassman dorms are great however, they feel like a small apartment and all of the upperclassman dorms have been erected in the last couple of years. On campus employment can be a hassle, but if a student really wants a job they will be able to get one. The professors vary, i have had some bad ones and good ones but overall they are helpful and friendly. This school is a very friendly school and yoy are not treated as a number at all. I am planning on returning to SXU for a second year and then hopefully take my business elsewhere. What it comes down to: if you go to college seeking academic excellence, SXU is a great school for you; if you go to college seeking a great party school SXU is not a great school to go to. I am a partier but i also like to do good in school, SXU is a good school for not getting distracted and to stay on top of your studies. SXU has been an experience for me, but it could have been better. I would give SXU an overall B-.

This school is pure dirt.... I cant believe they suckered me into going to this pile of trash. Social life is absolutley horrible i feel as if i have been stuck in a concentration camp for the past year. I live in a room the size of a small jail cell. The only Social you can achieve at St. Xavier is Playing Super Smash Bros on your nintendo Wii, they host other gay events such as Talent Shows, Root beer Pong, Aqua Bash, (water slides and ballooon fights), Jewlery making party. This school should be considered a preschool , than a college. Although the Education might be decent at this school due to small class sizes because they havent found enough people to sucker into their school. I have been told by campus tour students that they are told by the University to Stretch the Truth about the school as much as possible to get people to Come. Everything about this school is Dirt: Girls, Living, Cleaninless in your dorm, Bugs, Parking,. Everyone i talked to already wants to transfer from this thresh hold of hell. They lie about their students because they count the communiters so you think your gonna find girls here you thought wrong this should be conisderd an all boys school.

All in ALL st. Xavier needs to be shut down and exposed as the Dirt Hole it really is.

Quite Bright
I have read a lot of these negative comments about this school, but as it seems, they are just bitter thoughts about the campus life and that there is no Greek scene, and that people at this college don't get piss drunk every other day like most state schools. Now, if this is your criteria for choosing a college than God help you, but in my experience at saint xavier, I have found the education quality to be much better than what people are making it out to be, Saint Xavier is comparable to schools such as DePaul, UIC, and Loyola. You are treated as a person and not a number. Not only this, but most people that I have mentioned that I attend SXU seem to be overly impressed. Very good school, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. It is a tad on the expensive side, but what school isn't nowadays. Also, a lot of financial aid is available so take advantage.
