The interdisciplinary nature of the school puts it ahead of most other art schools. SAIC has the most advanced sound, performance, and new media/art+tech departments in the country (if not the world). Chicago is a fantastic city with art events nearly every night. Only negative about the school is the extreme urban location, after a month or two you will miss seeing trees and hearing birds. The winter months are tough too, dark and dreary, you will become an ice cube.
