I have not liked one thing about UIC. This is my third year here and I cannot stand it anymore. I do not know why I have not transfered by now. I first started out in the AD Program and hated it. The professors are horrible and rude. Also, all the art students are rude and think they are better than everyone. I did not like it AT ALL. I then switched to LAS studying Communication. As a major, I did like it better. Yet again, I did not like any of the professors. I had maybe one I was "okay" with. Most all of them do not help you and are not understanding if you have a personal issue or need an extension on an assignment. Personally, I feel like they just want you to fail. The advisor for the communications department gives the worst advice, is not helpful, super self-absorbed and honestly would rather tell you her issues then help you with yours. I have never been more frustrated! UIC has been the worst 3 years ever and a total waste of money. No one is efficient here or really cares about helping you. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Work very very hard to get into the best possible school possible, THEN work even harder to succeed and graduate.I did one out of the above two then, transferred and graduated from a lesser known school (UIC). I worked hard and received my MBA from a top 50 program. Lesson is do it right the first time. I hate having to talk about my split college career (undergrad)

Your experience at UIC depends so much on your major. I just transferred into a new major, and things are so much easier. It is very hard to get into Biology classes until you're a Senior. On the whole, it is not a bad school, but it is a commuter school.
