 | Quite Bright | Providing characteristics of students on this campus, and of the campus itself is absurd. The campus is very large, with a very large population. This is a college town. Some of the qusetions in this survey do not apply to this campus very well because there are students of *all* kinds, and there is faculty of *all* kinds. Due to the largeness of the sample size, such generalized observations are inaccurate and unreliable. There are many students of different kinds and most students will only be familiar with some, not all, of the major groups and types of people. That said, this is not a very closed or hostile campus in general. Everyone does get along. There are many things to do on campus and still some things to do in the surrounding town/city. Currently Champaign is changing and developing into a much livelier environment. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Collaboration/Competitive: B- | | | |

| | Quite Bright | My advice to anyone going to U of I is to join a Fraternity or Sorority. My roommate my first year bitched all the time how he would never join a fraternity cause he cant understand paying for friends and other things along these lines. Well let me tell you he sat on his ass and played playstation all year while I (joined a great fraternity) met a ton of great people in the frat and then networked from there to get to know a ton of people in every frat and sorority at the college. My roommate dropped out and went to western were crazily enough he joined a frat! If you want to meet a ton of people really fast, go to a lot of parties, work at a bar( big plus) join, trust me. Plus the people you meet will help you many times over down the road for all kinds of things including future jobs. Also, go around to all of the houses during rush cuase if your a pretty cool person they will all bend over backwards to make an impression ie free booze, food, and other perks.. | Social Life: A+, Innovation: C | | | |

| | Bright | The University of Illinois truly tests individual strength. Drinking and partying are HUGE here; however, if one can balance academics and partying then there should be no problem. Those who party in excess will not last long, or will end up changing their major to leisure studies. Overall, U of I is a good school that offers a difficult academic load seeded in a prevalent social surrounding. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Surrounding City: C+ | | | |
