1st- DON'T TRUST THE ADVISORS!!! Work on your own to make sure you are graduating on time. At Ball State we have a reputation of screwing people into having to stay an extra year! Don't let them mess up your plans of graduating on time.

2nd- When you need something done, do it yourself. You are wasting your time in trying to run everything through your advisor. They know less than what you think. If you need special permission to get into a class, email/call/visit the professor on your own. Stay on the professor until you get your access to the class permitted.3rd- Get everything in writing. I can not tell you the number of times my advisor has gone back on her word. She has issues with remembering what she has committed to. I will say it one more time, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!!

In going freshmen should know the university "misplaces" test scores. The universities lack of organization and competence becomes the students problem. Not only that, but the student will receive one business day warning to fix the problem the university or be dropped, replaced, etc. a warning to parents: there is a reason the university does not want to speak with a person with decades of experience...parents do not allow the steam roller to run over them.
