Not so bright
I went to Taylor university for three years and I would say that if you are looking for real college life experience then do not go there! this school is all about living in the Christian bubbles. People are not really open- minded and it's not diverse here at all. This school will never challenge you as a person. The professors and students are super sweet and kind though even though they are super stupid sometimes ( in a way that they have such a narrow minded). People here are super duper conservative, they do not know how to have fun. Most students seem to just come here to find soul mates. But the worse part of all is that the university is in such a bad surrounding area. It's like an hour away from a civilization...so you would need a car cuz the only two things that are close enough is like a walmart which is 30 mins away by car.

While I enjoyed the college, I did not feel "right" here. No one made an effort to welcome me and I felt like the prof's beliefs were forced on me.

I graduated from Taylor in 1974. At the time I began, my perception was that the general atmosphere was open and accepting. But the longer I stayed and after graduating and reflecting on my experience after graduate school and working on other college campuses, I am convinced that Taylor suffers from a narrow view, probably because of its tilt toward a more conservative evangelical world view. The broad palate of ideas that one ought to encounter in college is not what I experienced and, I fear, it has not improved. I have visited several times and I found the students to be somewhat self-absorbed, a criticism I believe the faculty of my era earned. Based on the limited amount of information I had when I made my choice to go to Taylor, I did OK. Based on what I have learned since, I wish I had invested more energy and thought into my choice because I would choose to go elsewhere. If you wish to expand your perspective and world view, Taylor is truly a poor choice. Selah.
