Be careful if you have a view that disagrees with the catholic church. They will isolate you. The schooll also has slim pickings on the activities front. Most of the activities are religion based. There is also the problem with the flocks of socially defective home schooled students who are rising in number each year. Overall one woukd be better going somewhere else. The only redeeming aspect of the school is the caring teachers. Faculty Accessibility: A+, Education Quality: F Have a Question? Be forewarned that this a catholic college. You have people going here that are so set in their ways, there is no point even trying to talk to them. Now don't get me wrong, I've met great friends here that I'm going to have for a lifetime, but a majority of people here are so innocent (clue-less?) about the real world because of the sheltered life they grew up in. Atchison doesn't have a social scene, you have to make your own fun. The sport teams here are ok, but it isn't a divison 1 school. The professors here really take the time to help you; all you have to do is ask. Since it is such a small school (2000 students total) in small town kansas, the minority rate is not that bad considering. I am the only full black girl enrolled here, but there are other black kids here. Education Quality: A+, Surrounding City: F Have a Question? The teachers were extremely unhelpful to me and Atchison has nothing to offer except drinking. The students were only open to their views, and no one elses.
