The pre-med classes I have taken - Cell & Molecular Biology, Biology of Organisms, Physics 1 and 2, Organic Chem I - have all been very well taught. To earn good grades one must study, you can't get out of this. However, the atmosphere is good and students tend to help one another - they have not been "weed out" classes. The communications classes and theater class I took several years ago - Interpersonal and Intercultural Communications, Acting I - were also very well taught and interesting. These classes have also transferred very well to St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN) where I am finishing my degree.

Do not go to Johnson County Community College. Sure the classes are easy and it does save money, but you're not getting what you pay for. The faculty are uptight and arrogant about their degrees and what kind of work they've done, not just to you but to other faculty members. Smokers are a huge problem on campus; if you have allergies don't even think about going here, because it is that bad. The wireless internet system is antiquated and can't manage the huge workload it receives so as a consequence it takes forever to get something on the internet at times. The buildings are nice, but that doesn't justify for that fact that it is vastly overcrowded. Parking is a pain in the butt. If you come here thirty minutes before your class begins and it's during the peak hours (10 am - 2 pm), you'll be missing part of class because of the lack of parking spaces. We have a four story parking garage and the college refuses to add on to it. Your potential peers aren't too bad, but since it's a community college most people leave after their classes are over for the day rather than stay around for a while. Simply put, the cons outweight the pros. Do not go to Johnson County Community College.
