Positive Negative Neutral Advice
I attended Asbury on the Florida Dunnam campus,Religion/Religious
I attended Asbury on the Florida Dunnam campus, which is 100% a commuter school. Despite this, I formed strong positive relationships with students and professors in the three years I was there. Almost two years after leaving Asbury, I am still in touch with several of the professors who are willing to continue to offer me their time and advice whenever I ask even though I am no longer on their roster as a student. I'm not a "people person" but Asbury is so much more than just academically challenging! The flexibility of taking classes during the day, in the evening, as a 1-week intensive, over the course of a few weekends, or online helped me complete all course requirements in a way that was flexible and allowed me to continue to work 30 hours a week. Course work was presented in a way that required me to think outside my usual patterns, and I feel I am in many ways a stronger Christian and overall a better person than I would have been without Asbury. There were many opportunities to put into practice the things I was learning in class, making my education a real world experience rather than a simple exercise in acquiring knowledge. (And yes, I learned a LOT from the course work, too.) I enrolled at Asbury 15 years after completing my undergraduate degree and was nervous about returning to school, and while it was difficult in many ways, Asbury provided me with a highly rewarding and transformative educational experience.
