University is a private, Catholic university founded in 1950 by
the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph. The university
is committed to the concept of value-centered education, including strong
emphasis on religious values. Our growing campus is located in
Owensboro, Kentucky, along the banks of the Ohio River.
With a population of 55,000, Owensboro offers students a beautiful
downtown area, performing arts center, museums, churches, parks, and restaurants
all within walking distance. Brescia’s 14-1 student-faculty ratio assures students
of individualized attention. The distinguished university faculty is composed
of lay and religious members; over 70% have attained terminal
degrees in their respective fields. Brescia University is accredited by
the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools. All of Brescia’s teacher Education programs are
