I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at KCU partly because I came in with realist ic expectations and a good attitude. The people that Ive found that dont like it here dont do so because they are the total opposite. Obviously some things can be better but its like that everywhere. I would recommend this university to anyone.

Kentucky Christian is a university that serves primarily average to somewhat below average students from mainly the surrounding area and Ohio. There are very few positive things to comment on...the KCU experience is not a valid collegiate experience. My friends who went to other univerisities seem to be having a much better time socially, and are doing much more advanced academic work. Many of the main drawbacks of the university revolve around the campus itself. It is unsightly--typical 60's/70's style beige brick architecture and massive amounts of concrete, no greenspace, and a 'beautiful' mobile home dealership on the side. The facilities are not only outdated, but extremely ugly and of little benefit to the students. The food is horrible, the surrounding town is absolutely worthless, there are no real organizations of value to get involved with. This is definitely regarded as more of a high school by most of the students here and the surrounding communities. KCU is the place to go if you want an overbearing christian environment and nothing more. When asked "why you chose KCU" the answer is almost always "I wanted a christian atmosphere", the sad fact is, that is all this school offers. Imagine going to church five days a week with a few irrelevant homework assignments. That is KCU. No social life. Nothing to take pride in. No prestige--saying that you went to KCU has the same pull as saying you graduated from community college. Athletic teams are comparable to high school teams in all aspects. People rave about the choir/music department, but it is not good at all. They practice the majority of the year for one concert that is overrated in every sense of the word. When the choir/chorale/etc. is compared to that of other schools, you will see how horrible it is. The only ones who actually like the choir are those who are in it--they are blinded by all of the preparation they put into there performances and don't realize the poor results, and the fact that they usually do a performance at carnegie hall which has been reviewed as "unworthy" by a magazine. No one knows why they have gotten to sing there multiple times when there are so many other more deserving candidates...still a puzzle to me. Academic work is solely high-school level with religion requirements dominating the curriculum. I love my christian background, but I have to admit that the time and money spent on coursework here would be better spent on courses relevant to my major. I can honestly say this is one of the worst colleges in america based on my experience. I went here for the emphasis on religion, and I am leaving here because I have never been more disappointed in an experience. Good riddance, KCU.

KCU isn't a real school. The town sucks, the education sucks, the campus is the ugliest one I've ever encountered. I don't know why I'm here. High school was more rewarding--more to do, more stuff to get involved with. There is nothing here worth caring about. All of our "accomplishments" are sad. Athletic teams win games, but thats just because we are in one of the easiest conferences and would lose if we ever had to play an actual school. I'm leaving first chance I get and going to a real school to get a real education!
