Quite Bright
after one year of trying to keep an open mind I'd say I have had enough and I am about to transfer. The fees started off well considering the very llittle choice of majors provided and the small size of the departments. This had its advantages and the help and attention you get from faculty is excellent. And I also enjoy the diversity of the faculty many foreigners but so far no trouble in communication and many form all over the states who have amazing credentials. But that's one of the very few good things I could say about KSU. The student population size is very small which makes it easier to socialize but interms of diversity I would give 0 stars. I know the school is hiistorically black but you see very little students of different racial backgrounds whether they're white, latino, asian etc.. so bascially if you don't dress, talk or enjoy the same kinds of things as most of the school it's gonna be pretty hard to make friends. The campus is very small and conjested which leaves you with very little to do when you're done with your work, i moved off campus after one semester because it was really boring and too expensive. The campus is not well maintained and classrooms are not as clean as they should be. there are plenty of computers and other equipment that are completely useless due to lack of attention. Finally the administraion, they start by adding ridiculous fees and for three semesters tuition has gone uo 7% and 9% and is likely to keep going up. The administration always manages to lose your information and is full of inexperinced people that just don't know what they're doing. If you are slightly different than the majority trust me you won't have the experience you are ooking to get. But this school is ideal for working adults, single parents and all other non-traditional students. But if you have a choice to get into another college take advantage of it, KSU should be towards the ned of your list.

Super Brilliant
Much to my shock and dismay I founded KSU to be matriarchal and hateful towards males. I expected a black college to be a bit more pro-male. I thought-quite logicaly-that black men would not tolerate an anti-male attitude from anyone, and for the most part they do not. Black men love being men and most black men do not understand "girl power." Neither do I and I am a white man. If you look a schools like Princeton and Notre Dame you find, from what I have heard, a more relaxed attitude towards the male. ND has a sports rep so they have no trouble attracting manly men. They would be foolish to insult the male gender, which is what KSU did every week. Men were told to leave their dorms to attend male bashing programs. If we did not attend we were threatened with fines. Insane. Even if they were lying about the fines this does not change the fact that they were using scare tatics to control students. I felt like a prisoner. After a few weeks of learning about how men suck they eventually had us seated in an auditorium to watch a video showing how women are making such wonderful progress by getting all of the degrees and how they are becoming a powerful force. The video was watched by all of the students-both male and female. The video had a smug tone to it. It taunted the men in the room as if to say "We are better than you!" This is funny, because whenever a man is better at something, say math, everyone whines about how awful it is. But when women start getting all of the diplomas the attitude becomes..."WATCH OUT! I am woman! Hear me roar!!" And this is all seen as progress. It as though society looks at this trend and sees nothing wrong with it. The video we were forced to watch displayed this attitude.
It is clear to me that KSU is a good school only for those interested in goddess worship or for men who wish to have females lording it over them. Sure, the education may be cheap, but is it worth it for your soul? Black men find themselves in minority positions regardless of where they go to school. Howard has a male female ratio of 2 to 1, with women comprising 66 percent of the student body. Maybe a school that is more pro-sports and pro-male would be a better than a pro black school. If there are sports there are men, and these schools are more afraid of insulting men, since men tend to donate to their favorite sports schools. Notre Dame has one of the best alumni giving rates in the US. If they crap on men as KSU does I would be suprised.
Eventualy I got so fed up I simply quited in mid semester. I can still recall the woman on the faculty that was trying to talk me out of it. She said that when you go to college you have to put your ego in a sack and leave it at the door. Yeah. I can read in between the lines. What she meant was that when you go to college you have to leave your balls at the door.
If I had wanted I could have raised my fist and shouted "power to the people" and they would have given me my degree without me taking a single class but I was so insulted I did not want their degree. Nobody insults my manhood and gets away with it. It will take more than an unearned degree to change my mind about being a man.
My advice is to do some research and go to a college that respects the entire you. No institution deserves your money if they think they can just walk all over you and brainwash you.
