The one thing I love here is the vet tech program (my major, obviously). It is challenging and hands on, and everything I learn in my vet classes will apply to my future career in veterinary medicine. This program is the reason I chose to come to Morehead--I wanted to do a vet tech major, but wanted the living on campus experience too. What I've discovered though, is as far as the traditional "college experience" goes, I would have been better off going to the regional campus near my home that also offers a vet tech program, and just finding an apartment near campus. The only events they ever have here are during the week, and are rarely worth going to. The vast majority of students go home every weekend because there is nothing to do here or in the surrounding town. Usually the only time they even have events are on parents weekend and other times when people's families will be in town--I guess they are trying to deceive our families into thinking we are actually provided with fun things to do, which is a lie. (I also have found it hard to make friends here; people seem like they all came here in groups from high school, and stick with those friends. If you are not from around here and don't know anyone, it is hard to meet new people, probably partly because of the lack of events. Honestly, the only friends I've made in my first semester (which is almost over now) are my roommates and couple of their friends, and one person who I study with for my vet classes.) Basically, if your looking to go out on the town and have access to a lot of fun things to do as part of your college experience, you'd be better off looking elsewhere.

Morehead state university is one of the most immature schools there is, in my opinion. When i first came here in August and went to business days i had to sit in the Auditorium for 3 long grueling hours just to be told that i had to pay $92, and if you were to look in the room, u would think u were back in elementary school, jugglers, a guy on a unicylcle, and a balloon twister was the entertainment. come on now this college we are adults. The people here are also immature, within the first month there had been like 5 reports of sexual assualts and rapes none of which were true, in return got visitation revoked in two freshman dorms and all freshman were forced to go to a sexual assault seminar which did no good at all, it really made the situation worse.

I wouldn't recommend this college to anyone unless the actually planned on being ignored and filing out because teachers don't care. I had a friend who was sick for the first 2 weeks of school and had to go to the hospital and everything...when she came back to class and showed the professor she had been sick, the professor wouldn't let her make up her work...told her to consult the syllabus because she didn't differientiate between the excused and unexcused absences. So, my friend and I are withdrawing from here and transferring to a college that cares!!!
