I had some wonderful, and very caring teachers
I had some wonderful, and very caring teachers at Transy. I made some lifelong friends there. I was treated well by the administration and staff. The scholarship and financial aid offices were always helpful also. I have no complaints on that end. While my own academic experiences were good, I look back and realize that Transylvania was not worth the money, was not diverse enough, and really did not prepare me for the "real world". It was...expensive, fun at times, way to focused on Greek life, and far too insular. I hold no ill will towards my school, but, I when asked, and I have been, I don't lie and say its a good choice. Unless you have a ton of your parents cash, and just fall head over heals in love with the place when you visit (do so twice), I would recommend you look elsewhere for your education.

Question
Would certainly NOT recommend Transy to another parentQuite BrightBiology
Would certainly NOT recommend Transy to another parent or their young adult. Numerous issues, starting with the scheduling for a freshman - it was horrible. Frosh are stuck with worst profs as upper class gets first choice. There is very limited switching opportunities thereafter. An alcohol & drug problem is very prevalent in the dorms, which we experienced first hand. Reported to RA's & Residence Life and they did little to rectify situation. Also, very little to token security for dorms. So easy for a stranger to walk in and have access to any floors, this was disturbing. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Mold in forrer hall, and the university ignoresBright
Mold in forrer hall, and the university ignores it. Caused major heath problems for me causing me threat to swell i can hardly breath. The parties are non-exsistant, it is a suitcase college (although they tell you it is not) everyone leaves on the weekends. The food is terrible. Social life is pathetic. I know too many people transferring. Has the potential to be an amazing school, but need lost of help. Wanted to go to a small school for the one-on-one time, it is hid and go seek trying to talk to my professors. The academics are alright but not worth waiting you college experience.
