I needed some computer skills and I want to change job fields. So I looked at all the schools in the area. I choose this one because the it was "hands on", the course work was the same as the other schools and I'd finish quicker, classes are small, and it's the cheapest. I 'd been to LSU and I didn't do so good there. I was put in huge lecture classes and I just didn't learn that way. At BR School of Computers I have small classes and when I need extra help I can come in on Fridays and my instructor helps me. I am in my 1st year here and I have already gained some skills and the school has already helped me find a work with a good company. My company said that if I stay in school and get my degree they'll make me full time with benefits. They are looking for more students that are about to graduate in the same field. I'm so glad I took the risk in going back to school.

This was not the right school for me but I did complete it. I planned my future based on a tight schedule, but due to BRSC's scheduling "problems" I was there for almost 2 months longer than planned. I was give 5 different schedules because the owner decided to change things around. I was alway in class and on time and I was a sraight A student. Even though I feel I was a excellent student I don't feel as though I learned enough to make my education worthwhile. In the begining I was not challenged by the general classes such as human resources and the microsoft office courses. I was challenged a little more when I started the more intense classes, but I felt I was teaching myself from the book. There were even people taking "self-paced" classes. I did try to find solace with my frustrations by approahing the people in charge. The times that I approached both my instructors and the owner with my concerns, I was talked to as though I was an uneducated unworthy individual who was being bothersome. I believe that if you are looking for a school: 1 cost little, 2 teaches you the "basics of computers" such as mircosoft office, 3 teaches some polishing classes for job seeking, 4 and have pently of time to spare then BRSC is a great school for you.

Alot of the courses you have to take are unneccessary to your chosen curriculum. And the courses that are most neccessary are not spent enough time on and taught by instuctor that are very ill prepared. Most of the night school teachers are either inept or assign way to much importance and work to the unneccessary courses ie.Human resources. Teachers are allowed to single out students and run their personalities down with no consequences. The director of the school treats complaints with very little concern. If there was any other possible place to study computers at night in Baton Rouge I would have switched long ago.
