LSU is research and athletics school.AverageMechanical Engineering
LSU is research and athletics school. State funding is terrible and private investments are the only thing keeping parts of LSU decent(sports/STEM). My freshman year was in Fall 2019. The overwhelming majority of professors were foreign with heavy accents, spoke too fast or to quietly. Most professors were at least 50+. After covid, LSU hired much younger faculty who are less arrogant but the TA's are. Expect to graduate from the college of engineering in 5-6 years.

LSU is LSU. This is by far the most "stuck-in-time" university probably on planet earth. I do not want to say that racism is still at large here ,but it is. The man who works in the testing center for instance is so rude and makes a noticeable difference in minorty vs. majority students. Some of the students here are the same. They can be rude ,but overall that depends on a person not the population. However, I have realized those that have these qualities tend to be from rural areas in LA or from Baton Rouge. The professors are so-so. WORD OF ADVISE DO NOT TAKE GLOWINSKI! You can make good contact with them then youll be fine. I will avoid getting caught up in the party scene for this is a party school. Tigerland is where it all goes down. Football is the best here and it is an experience. So far there isnt much to complain about besides that they univerity could use some serious uodates, but unfortunately the state has cut the funding for the school so that most likely will not be happening anytime soon. Come here and get your education make a few friends and enjoy some ootball for the most part. if you can withstand the racial difference and the rude faculty and students then hey GEAUX for it. Its still a great school and I overall love just for theose minor issues.
