Nicholls is a nice, small public university.Accounting
Nicholls is a nice, small public university. You might not get all the same amenities you would at a private college or even at a larger public university; however, you also don't have the same high price tag and large student debt after graduation that comes with those extras. That being said, Nicholls has done a lot recently to update the campus housing, university buildings, and has even added a new student rec center. The student to professor ratio is great, which means you can easily ask questions and get extra help if you need it. Like any college, you are going to get out of it what you put in to it. You would be unhappy at any school if you didn't get involved in extracurricular social activities. Even though the Thibodaux community is small, it has everything you need to be comfortable and enjoy your college experience. The people there are extremely friendly and treat you like family. I thoroughly enjoyed my college experience at Nicholls, and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in attending.

Question
NSU has the potential to be a greatNot so brightMusic - Performance
NSU has the potential to be a great school but it has been poorly administrated. Watch for the faculty, and administradors specially at the music department. They can be very deceiving. Don't always buy what they say. You can get in a better school with less problems or conflicts for the same price.

Question
Nicholls is one of those fantastic hidden secretsQuite BrightSociology
Nicholls is one of those fantastic hidden secrets in education. Truth is, it's outstanding here. The students act more like it is UCLA than a school in the south. They're more serious than LSU students, too, most of the time--that isn't a sweeping generalization: if the ratings people would actually visit, they'd learn a few things. Where else can you go and see a giant paper shark that says to the LA gov "Stop Eating Education?" LSU didn't do it. Nicholls did. The library is also one of the best on the planet. The staff and faculty there want to help students succeed. And they're knowledgeable. If you want a party school, go elsewhere. If you are creative and want to be set up to do well academically and practically speaking, go to Nicholls. BTW, we do have the best food, too.
