Super Brilliant
I find for the most part that the professors are well prepared in whatever field they are teaching. It is the students who lack motivation. They come into class late if at all, and turn in their assignments late. This is unfair, as the professors usually don't take off points for late work.

Average
Often facilty are not available. Office hours are sometimes not posted. When they are posted, the professor is not in. Professors cancel classes to often which lowers the moral of the students. Student to professor ratio is good. A student can get great one on one from a professor.

However, Some of the professors that I have had at SUNO, has had a tremendous affect on me, which to some degree shaped the direction of my life. The best departments at SUNO are: english, arts, music. SUNO has a great Africa Art collection which will some day and probably now is rivaling some of the Tier 1 schools in the city and surrounding states.

Bright
Overall, SUNO is the one of the most progressive HBCUs in the southern region. The student population has double in years. This university if rich in history and traditions. The faculty and staff were always kind and friendly and I appreciated that since I was not from New Orleans and often times needed assistance. The student body were filled with love for their beloved "Knights" and "Jaguars". The surrounding metropolitian area of New Orleans made for great cuisine and sometimes great night life.
