I love New Orleans but the Social Work program (while decent) is not worth the money. Go to a state school and save your money. I think incompetence is inherent in SW programs nationwide but if your are hell bent on being a SW'er don't pay for a name brand school like did. Once you get your LCSW it really does not matter. Tulane has very few scholarships for graduate students and the education is just average. An average education is not why I attended Tulane. All I can say is I am VERY disappointed.

Social Work

positives are the name of the school opening doors to employers.
Negatives are focus on the undergraduate, law and premed programs, which borders on the obsessive. This results in other graduate divisions feeling like the "poor stepchildren" of the university.
School of Social Work building is in terrible physical condition... does not even have any hot running water in it, plaster falling on students heads, not handicapped accessible, etc... unforgiveable for a supposedly top flight university.
