Super Brilliant
UNO stands for University of NO Opportunity! Did a double at UNO. Accounting/Finance. UNO did not open any doors for me. I went to Grad school. Hard work and grad school helped me get where I am today. I currently own 3 businesses: a rep firm, and 2 manufacturing companies. Paid for my college education with student loans, should have borrowed more and gone to a better university.Who you know will get you further that "what" you know. You will not find any one at UNO that is "connected" to your field of study, so therefore, your education at UNO will not get you a job/career in your field of study.

Quite Bright
Before going to New Orleans, especially if you are not local to the area, you should know that the city, fundamentally is corrupt. Now, I know that you are thinking, "City politics has nothing to do with my college experience." In most cities, you would be correct. Not in New Orleans. The corruption here is not limited to one or two or three of the most recent administrations, it has been a way of life for the past hundred years or so (don't believe me? Just the other day I read in the local "this day in history" about mob rule and corrupt cops in 1880). Because of that, it [the corruption] has worked its way into the very fiber of being down here. There are so many wonderful things about the city, but they fall prey to the many awful things about this city. The out of state fee is not worth paying. If you want to enjoy New Orleans, save the 5000 a semester and come vacation here.

Not so bright
Economics chair, Walter Lane, harasses students at his office. The administration of the UNO should require him to seek professional help.
