 | | | I'm going to try to be as unbiased as possible, but I was looking for the typical college experience, and I am not a fan of this school. This place feels a lot more like a stiff boarding school than a college. I can't say I'm surprised as many other negative reviewers have said the same thing. The kids that come here are generally Catholic, sheltered, judgemental, and overall not fun. The coolest people that Ive met here are planning to transfer. Some people complain that people here are only concerned with partying, but theyre simply rich kids who can afford to buy lots of alcohol and sit in their dorm blacking out. They don't genuinely know how to have fun because they're often very pretentious and not friendly. There are many people I've met that don't like it here but stay because of its academic ranking. That's where the high retention rate comes from. In addition, the girls here really aren't good looking at all despite what you might have read or heard. How sexy can you be when you're bundled up in winter clothing half the year? It you're conservative, sheltered, and catholic you'll fit right in here. Of course almost everyone that got in here is somewhat intelligent and hardworking so you can find people similar to you if you look hard enough. This school is not horrible, and I know some people can go through this school very happy. I personally am not a fan of willingly placing myself through freezing winters. As a California resident I regret not going to a UC which would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars less and a more open minded student body. I find that the people here are hardly geniuses either. They're kids who have had everything handed to them and have attended the richest prep schools which force you to participate in extra curricular activities. This school can get you far because of its name, and I would stay if there weren't better options out there. | Preparedness: -, Reputation: - | | | |

| | Quite Bright | Pre-Med majors RUN! This college will spill out the positives and make you feel like the professors and department will guide you to a successful 4 years. They will tell you they have great opportunities to get involved and will lead you to believe that they will foster a great relationship between your years here and getting into med school; when in fact they are more concerned with their own careers and research. Half of my classes in the sciences discouraged any kind of participation or questions. You feel as though they are there to intentionally set you up to fail. It is more about how smart they are. Getting an A is barely possible because they are more concerned about their status of being a tough professor than they are concerned with the welfare of the students. For a Pre-Med student that is basically suicide! I know at least 16 people that have dropped Pre-Med, many coming from stellar science backgrounds and pretty brilliant. If you want to learn, and not rely on teaching yourself half the time, and you want to have some kind of human factor DONT go here! In this case; it is way more hype than quality! Go to a lesser known school and get great grades and you will be better off. Surely you will actually learn more as well. Business majors will do well here because the business school pumps out very successful graduates, but for anyone going into the sciences, and drank from the Boston kool aid - stand clear! Just because they say they are great doesn't mean that they are! If I didn't have to get up and actually go to classes It would be perfect because you can really meet some great people here. I have a group of friends that are like family, but it's not going to get me into a med school. Do yourself a favor and look at colleges where you can have access to professors because, believe me, at some point you will need them to be in your corner! It just doesn't happen here. | Surrounding City: A+, Education Quality: F | | | |

| | Average | This school definitely has a reputation for being one of the most elite schools in the country. The curriculum is challenging but I almost feel like i am doing a lot of busy work and not actually finding out exactly what i want to do. The social scene SUCKS. The parties are very overrated and almost anything that happens off campus gets broken up by the cops around midnight. It feels like all BC wants to do is get you in trouble, even if it is for having 4 beers in your fridge(i was writin up for this). The parties consist of standing in an unfinished basement and trying to get a hit at the keg. I really do not wish i went to this college. Teachers sucks, kids are alright, and the parties suck. | Perceived Campus Safety: A+, Social Life: D+ | | | |
