I have fallen in love with Boston University. As an out-of-state student, I was surprised at how quickly I grew used to city life and being part of a massive student body. There are plenty of negatives -- a terrible BUreaucracy (prepare for the Spanish Inquisition and lots of running if you want to switch houses/dorms), a patronizing administration (can we say "guest policy?"), Chancellor Silber's "to hell with them" attitude (which, depending on where you're coming from, is sort of refreshing, given that most university presidents seem obessed with positive PR) and some hardcore ghetto-ness in the residences (stopped up toilets, icky lighting, the freshman enclave known as Warren Towers). But...these are problems that are probably present in some form at any college...and the top-notch faculty, interesting classes, fun and entertaining student body and awesome city of Boston make up for everything. You can't beat going to school two blocks away from Fenway, being a T ride away from the North End and walking every day in the shadow of the giant Citgo sign. BU has been everything I could have wanted it to be...and then some.

BU is a wonderful school. Like any other school it has its ups and downs. There is a lot of red tape and generally there are many steps to getting things accomplished. BU is also underranked. BU is a better university than is given credit for. There are many resources and classes to chose from. The size of BU makes it easy to meet new people. I love the diversity and the friendliness of the people here. BU is worth giving it a shot!

Boston University, though run by some out dated, out-of-touch administrators (Chancellor Silber), is an amazing place to be. The Communications department is top notch with an incredible faculty and amazingly supportive alumni. The life experience is just as wonderful as the education. Definitely worth every penny of the tuition.
