its a not a bad school all together its just supper competitive and chalenging. theres a lot of work to do and the system is broken. there could be like two weeks that are really light and then two weeks that are over schedualed. its also super strict they treat us like dogs who need to wear lanyard at alltimes of the day. the security sucks and rules are enforced to the strictest manner. its almost imposible to get your classes to be one after another. there are like 3 hour breaks beetween them and its a hassel if you live off campus. and they ony provide houseing for freashman. also for a comutter school to provide no parking is rediculous. and theres no parking on the street.

Quite Bright
MCPHS is a factory. This year they accepted more students to their PharmD program than ever before. Going to pharmacy school, everyone should already know that the work load with be tremendous. About one-third of my friends are either transferring out of the school or are failing so badly here that they can't stand to be in this place that is very difficult to adjust to. MCPHS is not a typical college, and you will not get the typical college experience at MCPHS. I got a 3.9 my first semester, but i know many students who study at least 4 hours a day, after going to all their classes and still fail exams. I know people who are depressed and cry everyday because they don't know how to succeed here. My friends were straight A students in high school, then they came to MCPHS and are now receiving failing grades on exams, lab quizzes, and practicals. People say that with hard work you can accomplish anything, I say that this statement does not apply to MCPHS. Do NOT come here if you are not smart, because you will fail, waste a year of your life, and lose nearly 45,000 dollars you will have to pay back for a horrible experience. Also, the dorms are not the greatest. I know many people that live in Fennel Hall, and their elevators are always broken and the school has become lazy about fixing them, leaving them broken for over a week at a time until both break. Also, their internet has been so slow that they can't even load their email. This school also requires a lot of studying, and unfortunately, there is not enough study space in the school. The library is always full, and the printers always are broken. The gym we have access to is extremely small and only has a few treadmills. The food is extremely unhealthy and their is almost no variety. The frats at our school are a joke and they are mostly just a bunch of weird nerds who think their the shit because they are in a frat hahaha, and they get girls drunk so they can somehow actually get with a girl. Also, getting good grades is very biased based on the professor you have. Professors teaching the same class are not required to give the same exams. Some students luck out and have easy professors for expository writing, biology, psychology, and calculus, while other students suffer with much more difficult professor. Some students then have to work ten times as hard, and receive worse grades. Also, expect to take night classes and have classes on weekends. Your schedule will most likely not end until later in the night. Many of my friends have Saturday labs and can do nothing about it. This comes from the over accepting; the school has not built any new labs to accommodate for their mistakes. I know a handful of people that have classes that start at 8am and end past 7pm because they couldn't register for any other classes or switch their labs.

There is some positives to this school. If you are a smart and very dedicated student that is willing to stay in for months at a time, then this place is a decent place to obtain you PharmD in 6 years. I had fun my first semester. The orientation wasn't bad, and I had fun during our welcome week. I met lots of people, and we had some free time. I got to go to a redsox game and went out to clubs and parties probably every few weekends. There are some fun activities on campus that you can go to if you have some free time.Overall, my experience at MCPHS has been decent. I have worked extremely hard and it has paid off for me. Like I said, some students work ridiculously hard and it doesn't pay off for them. I will probably end up staying here the full six years because I can graduate with my PharmD in six years. To me, the accelerated program is worth all the negatives this school has. I knew what I was getting myself into, and it really isn't the worst thing ever, even though your best friends sometimes will be your biology, chemistry, and calculus books. I would advise people to go to a school that actually has a campus, like St.John's, Rutgers, or Buffalo if given the opportunity. I have made lots of friends here, and we all suffer together. It's not the worst thing in the world, and we do have a 4 month summer. I hope this helps you understand what MCPHS is like from a student who is doing well their first year.

Do not choose this college at all. It has no campus whatsoever, and, as part of the Colleges of the Fenway, is the only one that does not provide housing for all years, or even contribute to the rest of the Fenway colleges, simply borrows everything from them because the campus is only two buildings, without our own cafeteria, gym or even nurse! You are treated like a number, not an individual. Every spring semester, some freshmen (thankfully not me) have fucking Saturday morning labs! Hello, ever heard of something called a WEEKEND, or do you just expect all students to be socially stunted and without lives outside academics?!! And I also know of some students who will next semester have a 3-5:50 lab, followed immediately by a 6-9:50 lab!!! How the fuck are they gonna have their dinner, this is exactly what I mean by being treated like a number!!! Speaking about socially stunted, unlike the propaganda you will be fed during your Orientation and during tours of the college, that's what some students become during their fourth year, or even during their freshman year, and you can read reviews other students, freshmen included, have written about their lack of social life in college, even if they live on the fucking campus!!! Feeling overwhelmed by the work, they will do NOTHING fun while they're IN COLLEGE, and I have heard that some of the fourth years won't even socialize with friends during meals; simply buy the meals, take them to their apartments, and eat while continuing to study like the unsocial freaks they have transformed to!!! Granted, this does not happen to everybody by their fourth year, and I have actually met either fourth or fifth year pharmD students, can't remember which, who have never become socially stunted recluses, and it is my goal that, no matter how hard the work is, during my fourth year (if I even stay in this fucking college) I will both keep up the grades and hang out with my friends during the weeks, just like fucking college is supposed to be about!!! This school also seems to just accept anybody who applies here, whether or not they are truly qualified, to collect all their money without really caring whether or not they all make it through; their interest is in your money, and they accept more students than allowed to graduate, perhaps just to see some fail out.
