Mount Holyoke is a great community, both in college and as an alumnae. The academic rigor is real, but people had fun too. Socially it was difficult at times because I didn't have tons of friends at other colleges in the northeast.

I personally had an absolutely wonderful and amazing time at Mount Holyoke. As any other college, it is what you make of it. There aren't parties every weekend, or a stream of social events as at some other schools, but who wants their life planned by a committee? Get out there, meet people, and organize your own events and parties. You'll have a great time if you throw yourself into the social web. If not, you can be one of many who sits complaining and doing nothing about it. Anyone thinking about Majoring in the Sciences, especially Physics, should enroll. The Physics Department is one of the best departments on campus, providing students with facilities and private work spaces for all-nighters with special access keycards. The work is hard, but rewarding.
