I love Mount Holyoke. You will definitely get a good education here. I'm in the gender studies department and to a lesser extent the computer science department and I love both of them. The computer science department is small. This is definitely not a party school but it's also surprisingly uncompetitive. There's something very peaceful about this place. Not that it doesn't have its share of problems but it's easy to find a home here.

I absolutely dreaded going to a women's college. I have always had more guy friends than girl friends, and frankly, I can't stand girls sometimes. Having said that, I think I am starting to find a home at Mount Holyoke. Without guys around all the time, there is almost no drama or cattiness. You will meet all types of girls here- friendly, shy, outgoing, kind, funny, caring, obnoxious, socially awkward and everything in between. I decided to put myself out there and be friendly, and it payed off- I have a wonderful group of friends!

When I need to meet guys, I go out to Amherst of UMass. If you go to parties, you will meet very attractive drunk guys which can be fun sometimes, but you can also go do your work or study at the Amherst or UMass libraries and meet more kind, sober men.

Although there are rarely parties on campus- it is SO LOVELY to come home to a quiet, clean, respectful, and friendly place. I never take it for granted! You will find a niche for yourself here if you keep a positive attitude and a friendly spirit. Good luck!

This is a great college, no it's the best. Everyone is frienedly, there is a great community feel, the history and traditions are really cool and the academic work is challenging without being overwhelming. Dorm life is good, there is some truly sweet girls here and a real sense of humour (often dark and Mount Holyoke cultic humour). The Lesbian thing in another comment, well, um, yea. I'd never had a girl/girl relationship before I came here, Ihad a three year BF at HS, but, well, um, yea, when you really fall in love, um. Anyway my GF is extraordinary, sweet, pretty, clever and holding hands with her is academic and sensual electricity. um, yea, enough. The future? Am I LUG (Lesbian until Graduation), who knows, I have three more years of academic, erotic and socail bliss. You could not buy it, well my parents are buying it, but you know what I mean. I love, Mount Holyoake, Karen, and Jane Austen, enough said.
