over crowded, over priced. students are not that bright and instructors are worse. They are hired because the knew someone that they worked with or a friend od Gurrons. Faculty are not trained teachers but hacks

Right now I am in my third year at the academy and can honestly say that it has been tough at times, but I have also had some of the best days of my life here. The friends you will make at this school will outlast almost any other. Friends here become "family" to you. It just happens that way when you go through the same bull shit together.

The only problem I have with the school, and 90% of students here will say the same thing, is how lame the school is becoming. This lameness is directly related to the few sensative, crybabys who go here. These winers absolutely DESTROY every tradition this school had by running home and telling mommy and daddy how poorly they are treated. Mommy then goes to the parent association and explains how little Johnny was hazed because he had to do 15 pushups. It's a military school... toughen up. The school is so worried about being sued for a hazing incident that the place really isn't any kind of military academy anymore. We wear the uniforms and have our own little parade every morning, but this is just for show, and it will fool any outsider.

I am NOT saying that hazing is acceptable or should be tolerated by any means. I am simply saying that kids become tired of the regiment and will cry the word hazing to get out of punishment. Yes, there is a demerit system in place, but I would take 100 pushups anyday over walking around for 5 hours picking up cigarette butts.

Ten years ago, there was a feeling of pride for attending MMA because it had a certain "badassness" to it. Any shred of that feeling that was left in me faded in the past year. My prediction for MMA in 10 years is that the school will be regiment optional, which will make it just a regular state college.

Super Brilliant
If you are a young woman dont go there! The staff is abusive, you will endure the you are a whore speach twice a year at least. The school is still stuck in the dark ages where it is ok for the male cadets (a fair few not all) to try and bag as many young female cadets as possible, and will do anything in this be it intimidation (and it goes unreported) or through the influence of mind altering substances (alcohol or drugs). The cadets do what they can to keep the women quiet, be it shunning them if they speak, or covering for their male friend. The staff turns a blind eye to these situations and even the female staff call all the women whores multiple times in group assemblies of women cadets where the male cadets know exactly what is going on and mercilessly ridicule them. Comcad and administration is the biggest problem, their need to appear superior and always right far out weighs their primary duties which are to provide a good safe education facility. If you are a gay male dont go either, you are treated worse than the females, if they find out your gay there is a good chance you can be put in isolation if others feel uncomfortable.

The academics are a joke, many teachers have lost motivation due to the students not wanting to work. There are a lot of self entitled students who ruin the academics for the whole. The teachers are not terrible though and if you find a good one then great.Sports, what a joke. The sports program is huge and the funding is very askew. No the foot ball team does not need to encompass 15% of the student body and they do not need new top of the line gear at a faster rate than the other sports. Also, many students join sports to get out of various duties, be it cleaning stations for freshmen male cadets, or weekend watch. However, the athletes in sports not supported by the various seniors who make the watch bill, still have to stand weekend watch. The school does not care if there is a real need to be home the one weekend in a 2 month period you finally have no sports event while in season.
