With the retirement of Dean Velvel its timePreLaw and Legal
With the retirement of Dean Velvel its time for MSL to put on its big girl pants and work towards and receive ABA approval. These days less and less people want to attend law school, meaning that MSL's higher caliber, prospective students will more than likely elect to attend Suffolk, UMASS or NESL over MSL. A situation which will just hasten the demise of a school which actually does a decent job of teaching students how to be small town lawyers. Most of the complaints on here about MSL are from disgruntled former students and alumni who lack the intellectual fortitude for the practice of law, and never should have applied to law school. In order to avoid becoming completely irrelevant, rather than sending post cards to alumni offering application fee waivers to alumni recommended applicants, MSL should spend its talent and treasure attempting to earn ABA approval. The ABA may be the root of all evil; nevertheless, it is the gatekeeper to the profession, and ABA approval is the standard that nearly all state supreme courts use to judge whether or not an applicant is fit to sit for the bar exam.

Think about taking the LSAT first before takingBright
Think about taking the LSAT first before taking the short cut and taking MSL writing exam because it does not indicate that your writing ability will be at par when it comes to essay writing exams. The first excuse that MSL will have to fail you is that your writing is effecting your grades on your essay exams. When in fact, MSL requires you take their written essay exam as part of determination for admissions into MSL law school. Ironically, after your enrolled and taking law courses and you get C grades, they will tell you that your writing skills are affecting your grades. So, whats the purpose of taking there writing essay exam before admissions to be accepted into the law school? Well, its there easy way to say good bye after the student has already paid for the cost of time, study, books, lectures, and tuition. MSL not recommended.

MSL prepares students in a different manner -PreLaw and Legal
MSL prepares students in a different manner - if you want to work as an attorney upon graduation then MSL is the choice. You are more prepared to practice than some other law school graduates that are geared towards 'academia' - if you want to be a professor, not an attorney then you may want to consider another school.
