With most of the big universities you have great, expensive facilities. What makes Newbury special is the people. It is a small campus so you are constantly seeing familiar faces, most of which are always smiling. Another comment about the people at Newbury, everyone wants to see students succeed. In my five years I never had a professor out to fail students. If you participate in class and show the professor that you care about your grade, most professors will be more than happy to give you any extra help needed.

Overall: Coming to this school was one of the worst decisions I have ever made in my life. Apart from being so close to the city the school itself is a joke. Why am I paying all this money for a joke of an education? Classes aren?t challenging, teachers are unmotivated and not very helpful. It seems like the school just hired whoever they could hire. Some of my teachers aren?t even out of graduate school yet! Most of the credits aren?t transferable so if you get the chance to leave you should TAKE IT! There, however are some really helpful faculty members who care greatly about your education and development as a student but that doesn?t make the school much better. This school has often been referred to as Newbury High because of its immature and unsuccessful students. Some of the students who were accepted had awful grades in High school and are awful students in college. GPAs as low as 1.9 have been accepted and given more grants and scholarships then people who actually had amazing grades in high school like myself. Anyone who has a social security number can get in EASILY. Don?t even waste your time, money or effort at this poor excuse for a college.Dorms: All off campus and some on campus dorms probably haven?t been updated since the 1920?s; in the winter you will most likely freeze to death before getting the chance to complete your second semester. And in the warmer months, you will have the fans on full blast and the windows open. Freshman are treated like garbage, and if you don?t put in your deposit for housing quick enough, they will stick you in a rat infested hotel until they can find you a room. (They accept more students then they can handle)

Newbury is a very good small school. I feel like a lot of students dont realize how small it is when they chose it. To me, it is an advantage. My professors know my name and I have been able to network with them. All of the professors have worked in the particular field of study or still do!
