People need to stop blindly bashing this place. It went on when I was there, and I see it here as well. The school isn't the problem, its the concept, and its not exclusive to this school by any means. Like most small private schools, the majority of the students seem to be there to kill time (myself included) as opposed to getting an education.

A lot of people have mentioned the drug use. Anybody that thinks its only an issue here is kidding themselves, its a problem everywhere. Some professors were approachable and knowledgeable, only a few seemed clueless. Dorms weren't bad at all, but another review was spot on saying most of the RA's are atheletes in it for the that are never around. Location is where the lack of fraternities and campus activities is made up for. Theres plenty of other things to do in Boston which is a 10 minute T ride away. The one thing I will say is awful is the accounts department. They screwed up almost every time I talked to them, trying to tell me I owed a few thousand more than I did. Definitely more expensive than it should be here, but again, not as bad as other schools in the area that are a bit bigger.Like most things in life, this school is what you make of it. It has a decent amount of both ups and downs, making it average at best, but average at worst.

If you like small classrooms and extremely helpful faculty, then Newbury is for you. If you want lecture halls and and a big school, go somewhere else. Newbury is beautifully small and doesn't get the credit, it deserves. the faculty here is so friendly and show much respect for you. They bring in a lot of knowledge to class and help you prepare for the real world.

I was absolutely awed by the location of this school, the campus is great and in a great location so that one may easily get into the city of Boston. I know that in other majors, there is a lack of challenge in the work and the professors tend to look down at students. I know this firsthand from fellow students and friends. In my own particular major, the professors are very helpful and friendly and have a lot of knowledge and experience in their field (with the exception of a non-major professor or two). You will actually learn something in this major, because the work is difficult to challenge you but not overwhelm you. The staff seems very caring upfront but, when brought a trying situation, they will not do much to help you. They themselves know that the students are very unfriendly and rude but do not do anything to help the situation. They are extremely inconsiderate to the janitorial staff and fellow hall mates, especially during late hours of the night, and most of them tend to only party and hardly do any schoolwork and fail to take advantage of the education they have paid for.
