Quite Bright
While I did find that Simmons College provides a great education, it seemed to be lacking in the social aspects. Sure, it's nice to come back to a "quiet" dorm after a long day in class, but on the weekends I found it more satisfying to go home and spend time with my parents because of the lack of events the campus has to offer. I knew coming in that it would not be a "party school" but I found that there is nothing in its place. If no one is partying, we're all watching Netflix in our rooms and having a lackluster college experience. Sure Boston is a great city, but unless you have an abundance of spending money then there's really nothing fun to do (except walk around the public gardens, go to MFA for free, etc.) Parties usually mean going to random MIT or Northeastern frat houses which does not interest me or most of my friends. It's fine that there is no drinking on campus ever (I'm sure parents love this!), but I wish there was something in its place. I even tried joining a Colleges of the Fenway group, but it only held my interest for so long. Not to mention the food is not worth the cost that it is to attend Simmons! Overall, my education as a nursing student has been competitive (although there are some know-it-alls), but because of the difficulty to get involved and be entertained is lacking, I am transferring for my sophomore year. The school is great for some people, but it will not by any means be a typical college experience. If that's what you want then Simmons is a great option, but if not I do not recommend it. I found many of my gen. ed. classes to be boring (to be expected), but to the point where I was never assigned homework and did not know what to do with my time.

Not so bright
I graduated from Simmons College in 1978. I would not recommend this college to anyone. The professors, many of whom were only instructors, routinely gave C's to the students. The administration was very condescending. This college prides itself on its "support" of women, but the teachers are not supportive. Do not go to this school if your grade point average is important to you in terms of going on to law school, etc... as you will find it very difficult to get A's and B's at this institution. This college take pride in being "difficult".

The office for students with disabilities is a disgrace. After trying to get some type of legitimate help for the past two years, I have given up. The director is condescending and not helpful in any way. He should not be in that position because he obviously cannot understand what a disability is. Each semester, they want you to go in for a meeting, reestablish the fact that you do have a disability (even if it's permanent)by taking tests which cost $1000s and then bring papers around to each professor and have them sign it, then bring it back to the office. After running you in circles, the most they offer is longer time on tests (which would not help me with my disability) or testing in a private room. My previous school had a much better system and were able to accommodate me and listened when I described my problems, rather than coating over them with a single fix-all for anything from ADHD to TBI. Do not go to this school if you have a disability and need help. You will not get any.
