Biochem Major. Pre-Med. Came to Tufts thinking of being premed like 100s of other freshmen. Decided on tufts b/c students were friendly and willing to help one another. Yes there is competition, but not cutthroat. Also liked the fact that most people at Tufts are more open-minded and less arrogant than at other colleges.

Quite Bright
Tufts is small, they dont have a business department but economics is more sophisticated anyway, hehe. International Relations is really strong. Student body is a bit too liberal but nothing too worrying.

Super Brilliant
All schools claim to be unique. Tufts really IS unique. It melds the look, feel, and experience of a liberal arts college with a research university. For example, I have only met one TA in my Tufts experience, and she was leading study sessions, not teaching a class.

90% of the professors I have met here are actually TRYING to be your friend and mentor. One of my professors actually requires that each of his students have at least one full-blown conversation with him outside of class every three weeks. Additionally, I feel like professors here are looking to make you work like you've never worked before, but as a scholar rather than a drone (like some of my friends at larger universities). It is completely possible to be inundated with papers and exams and actually ENJOY the work. That said, I warn that this school is for self-starters. To have a good time here you must vigorously seek out opportunities, both academic and social. Tufts is not a place for the perfunctory type of student that attends university to "go through the motions".
