The School of Nursing at Umass and anywhere will probably be the hugest surprise. I never expected it to be this difficult. The first two years at the university are fun and normal and its awesome to be with so many new people having fun. Then your junior year the work gets unbearly hard. You will be waking up at 430am to drive to Springfield to go to clinicals at Baysate. It is a shock but once you get thorugh the first hard semester you'll feel immune. You'll start to learn how to balance the insane amount of work, keeping yourself healthy, and friendship and fun. About to graduate, even though I've had a difficult time, I wouldn't change it. I am so proud of myself for sticking with it and am very happy to be graduating and becoming a RN :)Umass Amherst all in all is awesome and fun :)

The comments are here are just hilarious. "Don't come, all they do is party" yeah and so do many other schools. "The food won national awards", lol, for what? For giving you food poisoning and making you sick?? Don't use this website to research colleges please.

I won't waste your time with talk of parties and the girls. Any school has that and UM is no different. I enjoyed my time at SOM very much. After is the important part. Study Hard! Don't cheat as you're only cheating yourself. I landed a good job as a corporate finance manager (FP&A) at a fortune 500 company. I lead a team of five analysts and accountants. I make very low six figures. I've just been accepted into the (part time...yeah I know) MBA program at Stern. I'm also studying for the CMA and then the CPA. My resume will be pretty good in a few years and I don't think my choice of UM hurt me at all. An education is what one makes of it.
