Having chosen UMB as a commuter, little did I know that every morning I would have to pray that it would not rain and be high tide at the same time. Otherwise my small car would have to basicly float through eight inches of rain because the road floods since it is so close to the water. In addition, my first class was at eight o clock and I would leave my house by six. Having to get there an hour early is the only way to get a parking spot or else you are stuck driving in circles and will most likely miss your class. Also, the small classrooms are WAY too overpacked. Forget it if you are overweight, there is no way you will be able to squeeze through to the back of the room without knocking books off of desks and hitting some students with your backpack or purse. The only thing I did like was my professors. Maybe it was because I am used to high school teachers talking about hating thier pay and thier job but all of my professors so far have been great with the exception of one. ALSO, some of the faculty in the advising department are very helpful while others couldn't care less about you. I found it very discouraging that I couldn't take a class over the summer at Quincy College and felt they had no buisness asking me why I could get to Quincy over the summer but could not commute to UMB. You will graduate most likely debt free and with a good degree but in addition you will have lost all social skills because it is mandatory to be rude in the hallways if you want to get to where you are going on time. This school does have it's pros and cons but some days I wish I had gone to a regular school like most students, instead of a "glorified high school."

This school used to be good, a few years ago. But unfortunately, they have now started to accept anyone and the school is very crowded. You feel like a number at this school. The education is good, but it is the students who do not give a damn that are at the school that make this school an unpleasant place to go.

The students usually are:

-self absorbed
-do not know simple manners
-pushy
-materialistic
-people often won't talk to you even if you are in the same class
-distracting to others in class by talking, texting, and using chairs as footrests to the discomfort of other students who actually do want to pay attention

The teachers usually:

-can be kind
-certain teachers do hold a lot of office hours and will give you the time of day
-give good classes
The campus is:

-very crowded
-too many students waiting in line for lunch to the point that you can wait up to 45 minutes just to eat (there goes lunch)

-shuttle buses inefficiant (four busloads of kids sometimes waiting at a time after class for one bus and people get real pushy to get on the bus, leading to accidents like people tripping)

-no one seems to know how to hold a door in the hallway
-library very crowdedThe main issue is that the school is so overcrowded, and there are so many kids sometimes packed in one classroom.
