Faculty:
My favorite feature of Wellesley College is its faculty. Barring a few arrogant, condescending, and anti-social professors (mostly in the math department), Wellesley faculty members are quite good. Most of them are extremely helpful, available, and understanding, and really encourage students to deeply analyze and to be intellectually creative. Many are also dynamic lecturers. The courses offered are usually extremely interesting, and the coursework assigned is always very heavy. Expect to be enthralled by your assigned texts, but exasperated by their denseness and volume.
Student body/competitiveness:
My least favorite feature of the college is the oppressive atmosphere of competition that seems to hang over every aspect of academic life, stifling collaboration and introspection. While many students have a true passion for their classes, and a significant minority would be grateful just to graduate, a very large portion of the student body is obsessed with grades, future position, and perfectionism, and looks down on those who are not.
Location/Campus:
Boston, about 40-60 minutes away by bus, is a really great city with a lot to offer for college students. However, the surrounding town of Wellesley (very easily reached by foot), is boring, snobby, and rich. Most shops are closed by eight and are too pricey for the average college student anyways. Its greatest attractions are its CVS and Starbucks.
Wellesley's Campus is absolutely gorgeous and includes a lake with a walking trail around it (perfect for going on jogs!).
Prestige: Wellesley is not nearly as prestigious as its brochures and tour guides would lead you to believe. Very few people know how selective the school is or even that it exists at all. | Education Quality: A+, Social Life: D | | | |

| Quite Bright | I loved my years at Wellesley (3 since I spent junior year abroad). The academics were interesting and challenging and the faculty were fantastic in and out of the classroom. The campus is beautiful, the dorms are lovely. The students are smart, hard working and interesting. I was able to find plenty of male dates/relationships at the other schools in the area and really enjoyed going to Boston and Cambridge for fun. I loved the friendships I made at Wellesley and being in a supportive, pro-woman environment. Wellesley made me into the strong, independent, confident "can handle all challenges" woman that I am today. | Education Quality: A+, Collaboration/Competitive: A- | | | |

| Quite Bright | Excellent, unparalleled education. I made wonderful friends and established good relationships with professors. The social life was almost non-existent. The administration was out of touch with the student body. | Preparedness: A+, Reputation: A+ | | |
