Incoming students should know that in regards toBrightEnglish
Incoming students should know that in regards to housing, that department is one of the most incompetent I've seen. Transfer/1st year students get bottom of the barrel and when I transferred in, I didn't find out which room I was going to get (guaranteed housing) until two days before moving in. And this coming year, I likely won't even get housing because the department fails to mention the entirety of the process to get housing, and that if you pay past the deadline, you need to email the head of the department directly to be put into the pool for guaranteed housing, as if paying the $200 deposit wasn't serious enough. It's very confusing for those in their first year choosing housing. And often they completely disregard your preferences for roommates, as I got put in with three girls who had been friends previously, drank copiously and invited boyfriends to stay the night (things I didn't want to live with). So be warned when encountering the housing department.Otherwise, the faculty and campus are beautiful and friendly. The English/Education departments are filled with warm, friendly professors who will do WHATEVER they can to ensure you succeed. I recommend looking into Sigma Tau Delta, for those who want to be surrounded by literature-loving people who are education driven.

Question
Do not even bother applying.Quite BrightBiology
Do not even bother applying. There are so many broken fundamentals at Westfield State that this university might as well be an extension off of your high school. Residential life, student accounts, public safety, financial aid, and the administration in general treat you like complete shit. Attempting to get into the courses you need via their online registration is akin to pulling your molars out. Fortunately the professors are aware of this and are willing to enroll you into their courses with their signature, accept this is a lot of running around on your part. Administration has no grace, if you do not play by the rules you will be slammed with fees, fines, academic holds, and treated poorly in trying to resolve these issues. As long as you can throw money at the school then they do not care. Education is a business at Westfield State, and if you pay for your education out of your own pocket like I do, then prepare to be sucked dry.

Campus life is better only because of the students that attend the college. Make friends early and join clubs that interest you early, or you'll end up quite miserable with what the college itself provides. A lot of money is wasted on events that students do not attend. Parking is absolutely horrible so hopefully you never plan on leaving campus during the week. This would be much better as a community college. Westfield State is drowning under scrutiny and hungry for funding to keep it going.

Question
The professors are wonderfulQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
The professors are wonderful and make themselves available whenever possible. Aside from, that I don't many good comments on WSU. Parking is horrible, advising is virtually non-existent, and the faculty (aside from the professors) have been generally rude and unhelpful.
