I did attend Fairfield University for a year. What I learned was that both universities used the same text books, both university professors had their PhDs. Fairfield was much more expensive with tuition in a beautiful expensive area, but people paid for where they studied NOT what they studied. Ultimately, you can go and pay for your expensive tuition, but you will get out of it what you put into it.

There is nothing to do in Westfield if you don't have a car. If you want to go anywhere you have to take the bus which can take up 2-3 hours. The food is very bad and they put laxatives in it and it takes about 2 weeks to get used too and not get sick from. Most people leave on Fridays for the weekend as there isn't anything to do.

If you are a commuter, parking is terrible. You have to get to the specified lot at just the right time, or you are circling for spots or taking the mile walk from South Lot. This can be extremely frustrating, particularly when you have professors that are quite strict on tardiness. Westfield seemed to be just an extension of high school, rather than a revolutionary, mind-opening educational experience. BUT, there are definitely select professors within each department that really create a meaningful experience for you. You don't mind doing the work for these professors. Like any other state school, you get what you want out of it. The price is extremely fair and I received a decent amount of Financial Aid, despite its already low tuition. The campus revamped the majority of its buildings which was nice. Towards my final years, I was definitely ready to get out. But now looking back, I realize the school wasn't so bad. Overall, I'd rate it a B-.
