Not so bright
I think that every school is what you make it. Some of the comments may seem negative and say that theres nothing to do, but if you make the effort to make friends and find parties its so much fun. I have something to do every thursday, friday, and saturday night. They don't call it wastefield for nothing. People come to college thinking its gunna be some crazy place they can just sit in their dorm and hear about parties... no. No school is like that no matter where you go. You need to talk to people you don't exactly know that well, meet new people in your building and make friends. I have never not had something to do on the weekends and I have so much fun. Although I party, I do want to do well on my academics. The school is very helpful, and so are the teachers. There is a peer advising office and all you do is walk in and someone wil help you plan out your whole schedule and tell you what to do. They have improved this so much and many people agree that they are much more helpful than in past years. The classes are not hard to do well in. If you go to class and try.. you will get a good grade. I dont exactly get everything about "geological hazards or politics" but i have an A in both. If your looking for a balance of fun and a good education then this is the school for you. If your looking for a big, party school with all lectures, and no help form teachers, then Umass Amherst is the place for you.

The dorms freshmen year aren't to die for but once you get past freshmen year the dorms and housing are really nice. I think that youll see thats the same for any school. Im a little confused on why people have said they are strict. I get booze in my room every weekend and get absolutely hammared on the weekends and i have yet to get in trouble. They give lots of warnings for being loud before your written up. And most of the staff know that it is college and look the other way when you stumble in the building after going out. Overall dont be stupid and you wont get in trouble. Ive had a campus police come to my door, and i had shot glasses out and 15 ppl in my room, and all i got was a warning. Many of the ISO's are chill youll learn wich ones are dicks. Overall they are not strict at allllllll compared to most state schools ive visited. GO WSUUUU<3

Westfield State has provided me with a great education. I mainly looked at state colleges in massachusetts when i was college searching. Money is an issue in my family so it helped being an instate student. My two top schools i was accepted to was umass amherst and westfield state. I decided on Westfield because i felt umass was too big and overhelming. I am glad i choose westfield state it fit my needs best and i enjoyed my undergraduate career here.

A very good school for criminal justice. The professors are great and are very helpful. There are a lot of really nice people on campus that are friendly and sociable. Some weekends it can get a little boring especially on long weekends when everyone goes home. Overall i enjoy Westfield state and would especially suggest it to anyone looking for a good criminal justice program.
