The school is very small which leaves room for drama and a flashback of highschool. The campus is nice and the dorms are the best in maryland. However u can't really go off campus unless u are driving. The surrounding neighborhood is highly dangerous and violent. People are constantly plotting on the students who go here so you have to travel in groups no matter where u are. And there are only 2 dorm builings made particularly for freshman and sophmores meaning you have to move off campus eventually and buy a car because taking public transportation in thre neighborhood is not an option.

Coppin State University is the school people go to when they cannot afford or get into anywhere else. Most students, like me, commute so there arent usually alot of fun activities going on around campus. Many are non-traditional students. Its like a 5 step-up from a community college. Not much to look forward to if your a commuter...However, I am enrolled in the Honors College and some of the coursework is actually challenging. Most professors want to help and are friendly. The surrounding area is in the city, near a mall and near public transportation. I personally has lived in Baltimore all my life and want something more diverse. I'm probably gonna transfer next year. If you are a nursing student, coppin is the place to be.

P.S.- Try to get into the honors college if you can (even though sometimes its annoying) but tuition is free and its easier to make friends because a few classes all freshman take together.

Super Brilliant
This is the worst school ever. The students are loud and ghetto. The Instrutors are rude and non-caring. They look down on the students. The school has the worst graduation rate in the country. I transfered out after my first year. Do not attend this school please!!!!!

Quite Bright
I loved my experience at Coppin State University. The school is unique; in that it's mainly a commuter college and many commuters are older and disconnected with the pulse of the campus. However, if you live in the dorms you are in a different world from the commuter students. The school is making vast improvements that have been long awaited and is showing definite improvement from the past. There are still problems with the administrative staff such as financial aid and the registration office, but the professors generally are helpful if you need the help. If you have a good communication with your professor you should succeed.
