Not so bright
Goucher college has a beautiful campus, and a friendly atmosphere. But once you look towards the inside at the horrid dorm rooms, bad education, and depressing people it is not much fun. Goucher has no social life on campus, and if you are not an extreme liberal do not go there. It is a hippie college, and full of free love. The education is not ther best there. But the science and dance department is pretty intense, and is good. There is a high transfer rate at Goucher, me being in one of their statistics. I spent a semester there and had to transfer immediately. The place is depressing because if you dont smoke pot, there is no social atmosphere for you. In attending the school, you will recognize everyone on campus after two weeks. I would not recomend to anyone to go to this school.

I am an undecided freshman.. so far, everything here is better than I could have expected. The faculty is top notch, and the student body is, overall, one of great humility and friendliness. Towson is a great little city, and it's within easy walking distance. Some negatives that I've noticed so far, though there are very few and far inbetween, are: a.) The social life... that is, there is none. You will meet some great friends, but don't expect ANYTHING to be going on at campus come night time. In fact, it's very reminiscent of a ghost town.. b.) My dorm (I am not sure about others) is not in the best of shape. The electricity in the lounge room is often malfunctioning, and the bathrooms and hallways are not well-maintained.. c.) only some of the dorms are air conditioned.. if you have some dorms air conditioned, you should have ALL dorms air conditioned, no ifs, ands, or buts. It's all or nothing - air conditioning or no air conditioning - only that would be fair for everyone.** These "negatives" honestly have not made my Goucher experience bad in any way. However, be sure to expect some of them when you get here. Overall, I am very satisfied.
