My interests are in banking and finance...currently this instituiton only offers the required courses on their Bahamas Campus. I would really like to see the implementation of theses courses which are listed in the current course catalog on our Maryland Campuses. Real Estate Principles, Mgmt., etc. I'm willing to take some of these classes independtly I choose this institution for its diversity. I really want to finish my journey here; I do not wish to have to transfer or go to a real estate school. My name is Janis Brown and would like to interact with the higher academic staff about the banking and international finance discipline

I can't deny that I read many of these positive reviews of SDC with a sense of perplexity. Did we all attend the same institution? To say there is any sense of academic rigor here is just blatantly false. I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent and I barely had to try to graduate with academic honors. For an institution whose faculty touts itself to helping the people in the surrounding areas, I believe they should be ashamed of themselves. They are offering degrees and handing them out without offering collegiate level instruction or demanding collegiate level work. They are leaving their graduates with a incredible disadvantage.

I've made life-long friends here and am thankful for that. But, knowing where I received my Bachelor's from, I was quick to enroll in a Master's program with a different institution, as the name SDC holds less academic weight than the local community colleges in Baltimore. Nothing that I received at SDC prepared my for graduate school (mind you-I graduated with honors). Thankfully, I used the energy there was no need to exert at SDC in my graduate work. Please visit this school. Please tour and ask to sit in on a few classes. Do not take my word that I am correct just as you shouldn't take the word of any other review here. See for yourself. There is no rigor. High school was more rigorous. For shame.
