| Quite Bright | This school is pathetic. I’m embarrassed to admit that I have a bachelor’s degree from there. You can submit any piece of crap and receive an A. It can be completely wrong and/or have inaccurate information and you will still pass with flying colors. On the off chance that you do get something lower than an A on anything – simply complain to the department head. In less than a week your grade will be changed to an A. You are basically buying a degree – with no effort or education involved. You won’t learn anything other than the e-mail address for each department head that has a faculty member who gives anything less than an A. | Preparedness: F, Reputation: F | | |

| Quite Bright | UMUC College Park should have a separate listing. The professors are experienced and informed and they know how to share this knowledge. The campus is beautiful, in lovely College Park with plenty of activities, restaurants and fun! It is a wonderful school! | Starting Job: Project Coordinator, Preparedness: A+, Reputation: B+ | | |

| Quite Bright | University of Maryland University College in Europe needs to be cleaned up. Every time one's back is turned the Heidelberg (or Adelphi) people try and pull a fast one, or change a rule quickly to meet a special need. This causes confusion and disorganization. Here in Europe, Prof. Jane McHan is schduled to teach SOCY198/498, but she has no degree in sociology, or other known qualification to teach the subject. Even Prof. Ofsowitz said, "She doesn't know anything about sociology." We're stuck with her because she gave herself clearance to teach the subject. Prof. Hakeym is another local prof who is teaching sociology - and a lot of other subjects - but he doesn't have a degree or any known training in the subject either. The mpst tragic case is at Spangdahlem, where Prof. Dean Johnson is teaching SOCY105, but is at such an age that she often forgets things, and that causes confusion and disorganization in class, and at test time. She teaches DE courses too which must be an awful experience for uninformed students. We need a real director of social science, who doesn't bend every rule there is to meet her own special needs. A lot of us would also like to know the qualifications of the professor who are teaching a particular subject in a particular field. Are there any rules left at UMUC in Europe that aren't subject to a last minute change? | Starting Job: Project Coordinator, Preparedness: A+, Reputation: B+ | | | |

| Quite Bright | I can't speak for the UMUC CONUS program or the UMUC Asian program, but the European program serving the military is a disaster area. The amount of poor advising, poor program development, and errors with student records is substantial. Personnel at large installations have a greater choice of the same courses taught by the same instructors. Personnel at smaller installations get a few unnecessary courses to choose from. I think the overall problem is the management in Heidelberg do not communicate with one another, or with students very well. Overall, it's a sad program that is poorly managed. Advice: Do not enroll at UMUC Europe. | Starting Job: Project Coordinator, Preparedness: A+, Reputation: B+ | | | |
