Colby is trying to compete with its moreNot so brightBiology
Colby is trying to compete with its more attractive peers and is failing badly. They want to appear competitive by requiring no application fee or essay resulting in a vast increase in applicants and lower admission rates, but it's all a ruse. They have, by far, the lowest yield rate amongst their peers which is very telling. I wish I didn't go here and am more than ready to say goodbye to Mayflower Hill and Waterville.

Question
There are comments regarding the bad social lifeAverageMath
There are comments regarding the bad social life and nothing to do anything no fun no attractions or amusement parks in Waterville. Most have a car in vacation land. My question is why doesn't everyone drive on the weekends to pristine forests of maine or to the shore and since everyone's so rich buy an RV and camp outside and set up bonfires on the weekends instead of miserably trying to be miserable in dorms on friday nights? Why doesn't people bring their horses and ride them in acadia national park or use their yacht and drive it along the shore? People here claim to be rich and yet they have no creativity when it comes to having fun. Get off campus, go to the woods, ride a horse, use the yacht, get an RV, get on the bus to BOSTON and NY and see a show. The location and social life doesn't suck. People just lack creativity on how to have fun.

Question
Students are cut throat, self entitled and uberQuite BrightPolitical Science
Students are cut throat, self entitled and uber competitive, some even describe themselves (apparently in a self-congratulatory fashion) as "social climbers." Professors are beyond arrogant and are usually inaccessible, contrary to the way the small school markets itself. The school continues to get a black eye in the community with events such as 2016's "bon fire melee" with the local fire station and police. In retrospect, I would not recommend this school, although the academics are above average
