Alma College is not worth the money handsQuite BrightBiology
Alma College is not worth the money hands down... Alma College continues to increase their tutition even while Michigans economy suffers. The education is not worth the money and soon Alma's "distinguished" reputation is going to disappear anyways. I worked hard through high school and thought I was getting into a prestigious college but instead I got into a college of snobs and arrogant rich kids who thought because they were part of a frat or soroiety that they were cool. Alma College has recently decided to expand their numbers and are letting anyone in who can pay regardless of their academic achievement. Now we have idiots graduating from Alma and entering the work force destroying the reputation I struggled to afford for 4 years. The classes are ridiculous. Some distributive classes were harder than the highest level class in my own major. Their excuse is to weed out kids who take it just as a distributive....wow, require half of your student body to take the class then deliberately make it impossible to achieve higher than a C in the class...way to go Alma. Also Alma and partying do not mix. If you want to chill and relax forget it. If you are a hardcore partier and want to rage forget it. Alma is full of rich snobs who are immature and will have one drink and pretend to be intoxicated. They will wander around frats and soroieties exclaiming how "drunk" they are and are out of control. My sophmore you I vowed I would never step foot in a building dedicated to Greek life ever again because of Alma College.Do yourself a favor...go somewhere where they don't screw you financially or gradewise (by the way a 3.0 is pretty much worth a 4.0 at another institution but that doesn't do you any good because no one knows that).

Question
Alma took me on probation and didn't careChemistry
Alma took me on probation and didn't care about my dismal high school grades (2.3)At the end of the first year allof the department knew me although I'd only had classes from 2. They waived prereqs allowing me to take two 300 level hist, one 300 religion and bio 404. If i would do the work they gave me the chance. I got into a top grad school and thena very good law school both out of Mich. The reputation of MIAA schools is very high eventhough we are scarce. Probation aided by focusing me on academics. After one term of chemistry 121 only one frat boy remained.

Question
I graduated from Alma College in 1995 andBusiness - Management and Administration
I graduated from Alma College in 1995 and have always regretted going to that school. It was wayyyyy to expensive. The Business Adminstration curriculum was way too hard compared to other schools. I grauated from Alma with a 2.9 GPA and have dumb ass friends that went to WMU and MSU that graduated with honors. When you graduate from college, in order to get a job, you have to have a high GPA (compared to other candidates). The social life sucked. You had to be a meathead to hookup with 1 of the 5 good looking girls that attend Alma. In conclusion, stay away from this POS school. Trust me, you'll be much better off, academically, economically, and socially at a bigger school.
