| Quite Bright | Alma has been a great experience for me. It may be in the middle of Michigan, but in the past four years, I have traveled to Ecuador, studied in Scotland, and spent a spring writing and studying in Key West. I am a different person because of the teachers here, and I have a bigger idea of the world I am heading into now that I am graduating. | Education Quality: A+, Surrounding City: C+ | | | |

| Quite Bright | I am almost completed my first year at Alma, and I truely believe that this is one of the best Liberal Arts colleges in Michigan. Though the school might not be the best at every major, I believe that it holds a major strength in Sciences. The professors are VERY helpful and are willing to put in extra time to assist students in coursework or understanding the material. I have even had professors give their classes their cell phone number, and have called them at 10:30pm and they are totally open to helping out, even during their time off campus. The professors, staff and college really care about the students. The city of Alma might not be that exciting, but it is the same as all small towns, not much happens...which also means that the campus is very safe. Classes are interactive...not always straight lecture (though some are) allowing students to start discussions, voice their thoughts and receive feedback. | Education Quality: A+, Surrounding City: C | | | |

| Bright | Alma is a good place to start your college career. Many people don't come back after their first year because of the expense. If you come here you have to be willing to be friendly and get to know the people around you. If you want to have lots of friends and hookups get involved. Get a campus job, get involved in some extra curriculars or even a sports team (it is D3, so it is not very demanding in retrospect). Also, a huge part of AC is the greek life. If you want to be known on campus, go greek, but be careful. Make sure you pick the right fraternity/sorority for you, dont be a sheep and follow your roommate, friends, etc. Come to Alma and really get to know your field, professors, and most of all yourself. Be open minded and beware if you think that all Alma students are money bags- most are very poor. Alma is a little too liberal for most people's likings, me included. Also, pick an easy pre-term such as 'desiging your AC website,' or 'religious studies' so that you can get to know your fellow freshmen the week before the rest of the students get on campus. The food is pretty good... for about a week. However, compared to MSU, CMU, and GVSU, it is top notch. If you are an easy going person who likes to have fun, live in Gelston. If you are a church girl, live in Newberry, a jock who smells bad, live in Mitchell and a flat out D&D kind of person Bruske is the place for you. In all honesty, Gelston and Mitchell are the only halls on campus worth living in unless you can pull strings and get into the new Wright Hall. Living in your greek house is also a way to go, just make sure you can keep up with your grades. | Friendliness: A+, Useful Schoolwork: F | | | |

| Quite Bright | Alma is a fun place if you're willing to have fun. If you want everyone else to provide entertainment to your satifaction definatly go somewhere else. It is true that greek life is a very large part of the social life. The classes are challenging but not to the point that you have to spend your life studying. People tend to mind their own business as long as you don't exploit yourself. There are a very small amount of students there and i wouldn't recognize 95% of them if i saw them on the street. If i could leave my friends i would still probably leave. but its not because i hate alma. Its a good place. | Education Quality: A+, Surrounding City: C | | | |
