A student's personal experience from a university is largely what they make of it.

When I first started attending Central, I was a instate student. At first, it was really great and I loved the party scene as a freshman and meeting so many people in the dorm. As the year went on, however, I grew increasingly not in favor of the social life. Getting completely drunk every single night does not exactly boost your GPA. Forbid if you do not want to go out and drink. If you choose to do this, you usually will spend the night in alone. My family ended up moving out of state so the past year has been awful stuck in Mount Pleasant 24/7 because more than 30% of the student body leaves every single weekend. It can get quite boring on the weekends because everyone is gone and there is not much to do but go out and drink. I am seriously considering transferring for next semester or first semester junior year.

I personally am a tripple major in the business program. I am very involved in campus. I am part of the American Marketing Association, Deca, and a sorority. I would say this city around mount pleasant isn't very eventful but, if you become involved in campus it is super easy to meet new people. This school is considered a party school yet, what else are you supposed to do on the weekend with no shopping or other entertainment. I would recommend attending CMU!
