Ultimately it was a waste of my time and money. I learned very little from the unorganized, poorly structured program. Most classes which were required in the program had very few spots for graduate students making it very hard to complete requirements especially if you did not attend GVSU for undergraduate degrees. This is because every class you sign up for needs an over ride making it even more difficult to sign up for classes. GVSU bills them self as a student oriented, affordable school, but when it comes down to it its just another school trying to eek as much money out of you while providing a lack luster product.

Be forewarned of GVSU's engineering graduate program. There is a complete lack of structure in the program. Requirements are not made clear and classes change almost every semester. Students who choose to complete a thesis will find themselves wishing they had better advising and more opportunity for research. GVSU is not a research institution and never will be. Anyone who has attempted to become a successful researcher at GVSU has either quit or been removed from the program. Innovation, creativity, and hard work get you nowhere.
