Sort By: [Date] [Major] [Rating] Language - French/Spanish/etc.  Major Salary, Salary Trend, Satisfaction, Unemployment Quite Bright I did not enjoy my time at Hope College, and even now when I look back, it is an unpleasant memory. I was an open, curious, idealistic young person and felt suffocated by the many judgemental, conservative, cynical, intolerant people I met in my classes. Outside of class, life at Hope seemed to be caught in a strange bubble, isolated, limited and behind the times. I witnessed racism and sexism and really bad teaching. I found everyone there to be snooty (to say the least) and rather stupid. The Holland community is just way too conservative and sheltered to be able to learn adaptable life skills. I would have done just as well to live in my parent's basement after graduating from high school. I didn't realize all of this until I graduated and entered the real world, and now I find myself way behind my peers in terms of problem-solving skills and being able to roll with the punches.
