 | Bright | I really like the geology program here. We get tons of field experience, and the faculty in this department are really helpful and knowledgeable. Our department is fairly small, so all the students get to know each other. | Faculty Accessibility: A, Surrounding City: C | | | |

| | Average | | I love going to lake state. For me, the CJ program is really good. Most of the professors are pretty good, and they will usually help you as much as you need. The buildings are pretty nice for the most part. Most of them were built or renovated in the last few years. The on campus parties here are ok, but the frat houses can get pretty crowded if a lot of people show up. Going to bars and clubs in Canada is fun. The drinking age is 19, so most people can get in by the end of their freshman year. The one downside to lake state is the long winters, but its not bad as long as you find things to do. Its a good idea to find a club or activity to join to help keep you busy during the week. My friends and I all play intramurals and thats a lot of fun. The weekends are still fun, even with 3 feet of snow on the ground. You can go up to searchmont in canada to go skiing, or over to the ski trail in town for cross country skiing. At night there's the parties and the clubs/bars, hockey games, movies, bowling, lots of places to eat, and you can always go over to sault canada and find plenty of stuff to do.All in all, I'm glad I came to lake state, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a smaller school, without all the cliques and stuff you get at a lot of private schools. Its an especially good choice if you're a person who likes the outdoors, or just likes living on the border. | Education Quality: A+, Scholastic Success: B | | | |

| | Quite Bright | I like this school very much. The classes are challenging, yet fun; and everyone is very friendly and approachable. This surrounding area is amazing if you like nature, and want to be out in the wild. If you like the city, this school may not be for you, but you should still give it a try. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants a quality education at a price that just can't be beat. Two thumbs up! | Education Quality: A+, Useful Schoolwork: A- | | | |
