The quality of the Media and Communication Arts Major is wonderful. It's a very hands on Major and I've learned so much. However, in regards to taking any other classes at the school. They will treat you like a major of science or math in their beginning class. Expect to told to buy expensive books you will never use. Most classes give you notes taken directly from the book. Very un-helpful registration staff.

I am speaking only on my program, Media and Communication Arts (MACA) and my experiences in the major and with my professors. I graduated in 2012.

Macomb has helped me immensely in getting out into the work field. I had an internship before I even graduated thanks to the help of some really great and friendly professors that actually care and help you get ready for the real world. Since they gave us such a variety of projects, it gave me a lot more knowledge in all the design aspects and helped me create a very diverse portfolio. It was that portfolio displaying my artwork that helped me land my internship. Every single class I've taken has helped me in my job today and I have worked on all design programs that I used to create my classwork at Macomb.I can not say enough great things about Macomb's MACA program. I would one hundred percent recommend the program to anyone that is creative and wants to have fun while learning real graphic design with all of the top notch equipment and design programs.

The teachers and profs are awesome, for the most part. But every college has a few bad profs. The staff is difficult to deal with. Good luck getting any help from advisors because they know just as much about your program as you do, if not less. Called 4 times, 4 different days to get transcripts sent to the real college I now attend. If I could give one bit of advice to new students, I would say to spend a little more money and attend Oakland University... It will be well worth the extra money when you don't have to deal with such ignorance.
